On Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at approximately 6:52 p.m., KAMEG Agents conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Chestnut Street and North Harrison Avenue in Kankakee. A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 29.3 grams of suspected cannabis. The driver, Rontez D. Brooks, age 25, of Kankakee was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis. Brooks was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

On Sunday, July 14, 2019, at approximately 4:56 p.m., an Illinois State Police District 21 trooper conducted a traffic stop on a car hauler northbound on Interstate 57. An ISP District 21 K-9 was deployed and alerted. A search warrant was executed and a subsequent search resulted in the seizure of approximately six kilos of suspected cocaine and a 9mm Glock firearm. The suspected cocaine has an estimated street value of $176,000. The driver, Kenneth Bernard Berry Jr., age 32, of North Carolina was arrested and transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center. The Illinois State Police was assisted by KAMEG.

On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at approximately 7:25 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Dejour J. Turner-Owens, age 20, of Kankakee after a traffic stop near the intersection of Birch Street and Greenwood Avenue in Kankakee. Turner-Owens was charged with possession of a weapon by a felon and resisting a police officer stemming from a previous KAMEG investigation. Turner Owens was also wanted on an outstanding Illinois Department of Corrections warrant. Turner Owens was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

On Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at approximately 12:00 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Cordero T. Williams, age 29, of Kankakee after a traffic stop on Interstate 57. Williams was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center and charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a school. KAMEG was assisted by the Monee Police Department and the Kankakee Police Department.

 

 

On Saturday, June 29, 2019 at approximately 7:12 p.m., KAMEG Agents conducted an investigation at 2661 South 13000 East County Road in Hopkins Park, Illinois. KAMEG Agents arrested the driver, Terrance M. Roundtree, age 27, of Texas, after KAMEG Agents observed and seized a loaded 9mm firearm from inside the vehicle.  Roundtree was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

 

 

On Monday, June 17, 2019, at approximately 5:30 p.m., KAMEG Agents conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of East Maple Street in Kankakee. Agents arrested the driver, Terry D. Lawhorn, age 56, of Kankakee, after receiving information that Lawhorn was wanted on an outstanding Kankakee County warrant and that Lawhorn's driver license was suspended. From the vehicle, KAMEG Agents seized approximately 15.1 grams of suspected cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Lawhorn was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

A three month investigation has culminated in the arrest of 1 more individual from the Kankakee metropolitan area.  Kurt A. Skoglund, age 33, of Bradley, Illinois, was arrested by the Bradley Police Department on June 11, 2019.  KAMEG Agents additional charged Skoglund with 2 counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Skoglund was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.  Throughout this investigation, KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee County State’s Attorney Office.  This is an ongoing investigation with more arrests anticipated.

 

 

On Monday, June 10, 2019, at approximately 10:49 p.m., KAMEG Agents located and arrested Patrick E. Chism, age 31, of Bourbonnais, Illinois. The location of the arrest was 1305 North Locke Drive in Bourbonnais.  KAMEG Agents arrested Chism stemming from a previous KAMEG investigation in which Agents seized 7.6 pounds of suspected cannabis, 4.9 grams of suspected ecstasy, and a loaded handgun during a search warrant of Chism’s residence in Bourbonnais in May of 2019.  Chism was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.  Chism was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and no FOID card.

 

 

On Sunday, June 9, 2019 at approximately 8:38 P.M., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 435 South Cannon Avenue in Kankakee, Illinois. KAMEG Agents seized approximately 19.8 grams of suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a 9mm handgun.  A resident, Siemon T. Moore, age 41, of Kankakee was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and for unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.  Moore was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

 On Friday, June 7, 2019 at approximately 11:07 P.M., KAMEG Agents conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of East Locust Street for traffic vi0lations.  A probable cause search of the vehicle leas to the seizure of approximately 13.3 grams of suspected cannabis and a defaced 9mm handgun.  The driver Daquan D. Sartin, age 23, Kankakee was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and armed violence.  Sartin was additionally charged for resisting arrest after he fled on foot after exiting the vehicle.  He was apprehended by KAMEG Agents after a brief foot pursuit.  Sartin was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

A three month investigation has culminated in the arrest of 1 more individual from the Kankakee metropolitan area. On June 1, 2019, KAMEG Agents with assistance from the Bradley Police Department arrested this individual on drug delivery and/or drug possession charges. Arrested was the following individual:

• Michael L. Campbell, age 24, of Bourbonnais

Throughout the investigation, KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee County State's Attorney's Office. This is an ongoing investigation with more arrests anticipated.

 

 

A three month investigation has culminated in the arrest of 2 more individuals from the Kankakee metropolitan area. KAMEG Agents with assistance from the Illinois State Police arrested these individuals on drug delivery and/or drug possession charges. Arrested were the following individuals:

• Brenda F. White, age 65, of Kankakee

• Anthony L. Adams, age 32, of Kankakee

Throughout the investigation, KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee County State's Attorney's Office. This is an ongoing investigation with more arrests anticipated.

 

 

A three month investigation has culminated in the arrest of 3 more individuals from the Kankakee metropolitan area. KAMEG Agents with assistance from the Illinois State Police and the Manteno Police Department have arrested these individuals on drug delivery and/or drug possession charges. Arrested were the following individuals:

• Dylan J. Campbell, age 25, of Manteno

• Zachary M. Sells, age 27, of Kankakee

• Alisa L. Helm, age 44, of Kankakee

Throughout the investigation, KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee County State's Attorney's Office. This is an ongoing investigation with more arrests anticipated.

 

 

A three month investigation has culminated in the arrest of 3 individuals from the Kankakee metropolitan area. KAMEG Agents with assistance from the Illinois State Police have arrested these individuals on drug delivery and/or drug possession charges. Arrested on May 20, 2019, were the following individuals:

• Dairyus Terrell, age 25, of Bourbonnais

• William J. Ruff, age 60, of Kankakee

• Freddie Smith, age 55, of Kankakee

Throughout the investigation, KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee County State's Attorney's Office. This is an ongoing investigation with more arrests anticipated.

 

 

On Monday, May 20, 2019, at approximately 12:21 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Willie T. Clark, age 48, of Kankakee, Illinois, shortly before a search warrant was executed at 433 North Entrance Avenue in Kankakee. KAMEG Agents seized drug paraphernalia from his residence. Clark was charged with 2 counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance stemming from previous  KAMEG investigations. Clark was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Thursday, May 2, 2019, at approximately 5:31 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested David Cortez Saulsberry, age 27, of Bradley, Illinois, after a search warrant was executed at 776 Meadow Court in Bradley. KAMEG Agents seized approximately 1,517 grams of suspected cannabis products. Saulsberry was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Saulsberry was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Thursday, May 2, 2019, at approximately 3:13 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Makala Joi Miles, age 25, of Kankakee, after a traffic stop near the intersection of East Court Street and South Gordon Avenue in Kankakee. KAMEG Agents arrested Miles after a probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 3.21 pounds of suspected cannabis. Miles was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Miles was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center. Miles was additionally charged with obstruction of justice for providing false identification to the police and to the staff of the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Saturday, April 27, 2019, Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG), Bourbonnais Police Department, Bradley Police Department, Illinois State Police, Kankakee Police Department, Kankakee County Sheriff's Department, Manteno Police Department, and the Momence Police Department partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at the Northfield Square Mall. KAMEG Director Koerner reported that the event was an overwhelming success and that approximately 650 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs were turned in for disposal in Kankakee County. KAMEG was also assisted by the Pledge for Life Partnership of Kankakee County. KAMEG would also like to thank area residents for their continued support and for assisting in the event to

make our communities safer.

 

 

On Thursday, April 11, 2019, at approximately 7:33 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Donnie L. Tucker, age 18, of Kankakee, after a traffic stop near the intersection of South Harrison Avenue and East River Street in Kankakee. KAMEG Agents arrested Tucker after a probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 32.6 grams of suspected cannabis and 1.5 grams of suspected ecstasy. Tucker was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Tucker was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

On Saturday, April 27, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG) , Kankakee Police Department, Bradley Police Department, Bourbonnais Police Department, Kankakee County Sheriffs Department, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Pledge for Life Partnership will give the public its next opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Please bring your unwanted medications for disposal to the Northfield Square Mall at 1600 North State Route 50 in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Please use the east midcourt entrance between Carson's Department Store and Cinemark Movies 10. This service is free, anonymous, and no questions will be asked. Officers from KAMEG will be stationed to accept medications. According to KAMEG Director Chris Koerner, "The program is a success in our area due to continued public support. During the past two collections, officers have collected over 2,100 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs." Similar to past events, the drop-off location inside the mall will be set-up to allow quick public access to the service. Director Koerner reminds the public that needles, syringes, and liquids are NOT accepted during the event. Director Koerner also advised that if the public is unable to make the event, the following locations have permanent drop boxes: Aroma Park Village Hall, Bradley Police Department, Bourbonnais Police Department, Grant Park Police Department, Herscher Village Hall, Illinois State Police -District 21, Jerome Combs Detention Center, Kankakee Police Department, Kankakee Sheriffs Department, Manteno Police Department, Momence Police Department, and St. Anne Village Hall. Area residents are encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agencies to determine exact locations and hours of availability

 

 

 

On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at approximately 2:40 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Sylvester M. Paino, age 23, of Kankakee, after a traffic stop near the intersection of South Schuyler Avenue and East Station Street in Kankakee. KAMEG Agents arrested Paino on three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance stemming from previous KAMEG investigations. Additionally, Paino was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver after Agents located approximately 5.0 grams of suspected crack cocaine in Paino's possession. Paino was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG Agents, with assistance from the Kankakee Police Department's Gang Enforcement Tactical Unit (GETU), also executed three search warrants on Tuesday in Kankakee. Agents seized approximately 175.5 grams of suspected cannabis. This is an on-going investigation with more arrests anticipated.

 

 

 

 

 

 

On Thursday, March 28, 2019, at approximately 11:54 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Martavius L. Laster, age 22, of Kankakee, after a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Washington Avenue in Kankakee, Illinois. KAMEG Agents stopped the vehicle for an equipment violation and received information that Laster's driver's license was suspended. During a search of the vehicle, Agents located approximately 107.7 grams of suspected cannabis. Laster was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and for driving while license suspended. Laster was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Monday, February 25, 2019, at approximately 4:24 p.m., KAMEG Agents, with assistance from officers from the Kankakee Police Department including their SWAT team, executed a search warrant at an upstairs apartment located at 662 West Station Street in Kankakee, Illinois. During a search, Agents located approximately 356 grams of suspected cannabis, 82 suspected ecstasy tablets, approximately 10 prescription pills, and one loaded firearm. The resident, Judah Herring, age 19, was arrested. During his apprehension, an additional loaded firearm was recovered from Herring. Herring was charged with armed violence, four counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 500 feet of a park, and for unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Herring was also wanted on an outstanding Kankakee County warrant for failure to appear on a property damage charge. A second resident, Claudia L. Posing, age 18, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 500 feet of a park and for unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Both were transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

 

On Sunday, February 17, 2019, at approximately 7:00 p.m., KAMEG Agents located and arrested Malik S. Staples, age 37, of Kankakee, in the 1700 block of West Station Street in Kankakee, Illinois. Staples was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance stemming from a previous KAMEG investigation. Staples was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee Police Department.

 

 

On Saturday, February 16, 2019, at approximately 10:50 p.m., KAMEG Agents located and arrested Lashaun L. Ross, age 38, of Pembroke, at 62 Ken Hayes Drive in Bradley, Illinois. Ross was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a church stemming from a previous KAMEG investigation. Ross was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Saturday, February 16, 2019, at approximately 10:09 p.m., KAMEG Agents conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Chestnut Street in Kankakee, Illinois. Agents arrested the driver, Darrien L. Kennedy, age 25, of Kankakee, after receiving information that Kennedy was wanted on two (2) outstanding warrants. Kennedy was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Friday, February 15, 2019, at approximately 9:30 p.m., KAMEG Agents located and arrested Alton G. Smith Jr., age 39, of Kankakee, in the 400 block of North Cottage Avenue in Kankakee, Illinois. Smith was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance stemming from a previous KAMEG investigation. Smith was also wanted on an outstanding Kankakee county warrant. Smith was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Friday, February 15, 2019, at approximately 7:00 p.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 442 South Wildwood Avenue in Kankakee, Illinois. Agents seized approximately 10.5 grams of suspected cocaine and 1.2 grams of suspected cannabis. A resident, Adrianne D. Ducharme, age 40, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 500 feet of a school. Ducharme was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee Police Department.

 

 

On Sunday, February 10, 2019, at approximately 8:10 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Jawan M. Smith, age 20, of Kankakee. KAMEG Agents arrested Smith in the 100 block of North Cottage Avenue in Kankakee after a traffic stop. Smith was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance after 0.2 grams of suspected heroin was seized from the vehicle. Smith was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Saturday, February 2, 2019, at approximately 5:47 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Anthony L. Davis, age 52, of Kankakee. KAMEG Agents arrested Davis in the 300 block of Kennedy Drive in Bradley. Davis was charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance stemming from previous KAMEG investigations. Davis was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Sunday, January 27, 2019, at approximately 9:31 p.m., KAMEG Agents located and arrested Kendall D. Harris, age 33, of Kankakee. KAMEG Agents arrested Harris in the 400 block of South Dearborn Avenue in Kankakee. Harris was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance stemming from a previous investigation. Harris was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Friday, January 25, 2019, at approximately 7:07 p.m., KAMEG Agents located and arrested Angel J. Schoeberl, age 31, of rural St. Anne. KAMEG Agents arrested Schoeberl in the 300 block of East Oak Street in Kankakee. Schoeberl was wanted on an outstanding Iroquois County warrant for residential burglary and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Schoeberl was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Thursday, January 24, 2019, at approximately 11:30 p.m., an ISP District 21 Trooper conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation southbound on Interstate 57 at milepost 321. A District 21 K-9 unit was requested and a positive alert led to a probable cause search of the vehicle. Officers seized approximately 12 ounces of suspected powder cocaine from the inside of the vehicle. Arrested was Richard A. Willison, age 33, of Chebanse. Willison was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Willison was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG assisted in the investigation.

 

 

On Saturday, January 19, 2019, at approximately 10:49 p.m., KAMEG Agents located and arrested Philip R. Birdsong, age 41, near the intersection of East Bourbonnais Street and South Rosewood Avenue in Kankakee. Birdsong was arrested for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance stemming from a previous KAMEG investigation. Birdsong was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center. Jail personnel located approximately 2.7 grams of suspected crack cocaine, approximately 2.7 of suspected powder cocaine, and 7 suspected ecstasy pills on his person. Birdsong was additionally charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance and for bringing contraband into a penal institution.

 

 

On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at approximately 11:19 a.m., KAMEG Agents

executed a search warrant at 718 South Elm Avenue in Kankakee, Illinois. During

the search, Agents seized approximately 2 firearms, ammunition, suspected

heroin, and suspected drug paraphernalia. A resident, Jalen M. Lane, age 23, was

arrested and charged with possession of a weapon by a felon and for aggravated

unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Lane was transported to the Jerome Combs

Detention Center.

 

On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at approximately 5:00 p.m., KAMEG Agents located and arrested Deric Wren Jr., age 37, in the 500 block of East Cypress Street in Kankakee, Illinois. Wren Jr. was arrested on two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and for unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. KAMEG Agents also seized approximately 3.9 grams of suspected ecstasy. Wren Jr. was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

On Thursday, January 10, 2019, at approximately 2:01 p.m., law enforcement agents executed a search warrant at 135 Joyce Drive in Manteno, Illinois.  During the search, Agents seized approximately 2 kilograms of suspected cocaine, approximately 20 segregated parts of suspected LSD, approximately 6.71 grams of suspected ketamine, and suspected drug paraphernalia.  A resident, Zachary Zielinski, age 22, was arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Zielinski was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.  KAMEG was assisting the United States Postal Inspection Service.  Other agencies assisting were the Chicago Police Department and the Manteno Police Department.       

 

On Thursday, January 3, 2019, at approximately 9:48 a.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 681 South Poplar Avenue in Kankakee, Illinois. During the search, Agents seized approximately 0.9 grams of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia. A resident, Jursalle J. Hairston, age 45, was arrested and charged with five counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance stemming from previous KAMEG investigations. Hairston was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Monday, December 24, 2018, at approximately 3:08 p.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 481 North Cottage Avenue in Kankakee, Illinois. During the search, Agents seized approximately 719.7 grams of suspected cannabis and a loaded .22 caliber pistol. A resident, Johnta L. Adams, age 30, was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and for criminal fortification. Matthew Bender, age 34, was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Both were transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Monday, December 17, 2018, at approximately 8:00 p.m., KAMEG agents

arrested Wendell A. Smith, age 28, of Kankakee, IL, for one (1) count of unlawful

delivery of a controlled substance. During a previous narcotic investigation in

Kankakee, Smith allegedly made a delivery of suspected heroin. Smith was

transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Monday, November 26, 2018, at approximately 10:46 p.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at the Economy Inn, 2125 South Schuyler Avenue, Room 223, in Kankakee, Illinois. Agents seized 1 loaded handgun, approximately 12.6 grams of suspected cocaine, approximately 12.7 grams of suspected Alprazolam, and United States currency. Arrested was the occupant, Jamal Campbell, age 24, of Kankakee. Campbell initially fled on foot from the scene, but was later apprehended from a nearby residence. Campbell was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and for Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Campbell was transported and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee Police Department.

 

 

On Friday, November 16, 2018, at approximately 7:54 a.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 653 East River Street, Apartment 1, in Kankakee, Illinois. Agents seized 2 shotguns, 1 handgun, and ammunition. Arrested was the resident, Nickolas A. Skaggs, age 29, of Kankakee. Skaggs was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition by a Felon, and for no FOlD card. Skaggs was transported and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Sunday, November 4, 2018, at approximately 9:50 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Darrell L. Simmons, age 33, of Kankakee, after a traffic stop in the 700 block of North Schuyler Avenue in Kankakee. Simmons was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis and for possession of a controlled substance after Agents recovered approximately 4.3 grams of suspected cannabis, 2.8 grams of suspected cocaine, and 0.6 grams of suspected MDMA. Simmons was also wanted on two outstanding warrants. Simmons was transported and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

On Friday, October 19, 2018, at approximately 6:00 p.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 346 South Wall Street, Apartment 1, Kankakee, IL. During a search, Agents seized approximately 11.1 grams of suspected cocaine. Roderick M. Smith, age 48, of Kankakee, was arrested and charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Smith was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, at approximately 7:16 p.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 531 South Dearborn Avenue, Kankakee, IL. During a search, Agents seized approximately 27.5 grams of suspected cannabis. Darius K. Samuels, age 23, of Kankakee, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Samuels was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Monday, October 15, 2018, at approximately 1:20 p.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 172 South Stadium Drive, Bourbonnais, IL. During a search, Agents seized approximately 6.6 pounds of suspected cannabis. Ednin Israel Sosa-Quijada, age 21, of Bourbonnais, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Sosa-Quijada was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Friday, October 12, 2018, at approximately 7:22 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Tremaine L. Moore, age 35, of Kankakee, after a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Poplar Avenue in Kankakee. Moore was arrested after a brief foot pursuit and charged with possession of cannabis with intent to deliver (30-500 grams) and for resisting a peace officer. Moore was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. Moore was transported and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at approximately 6:30 p.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 719 North Church Street, Gibson City, IL (Ford County). During a search, Agents seized ammunition and approximately 22.0 grams of suspected cannabis. The resident, Nicholas JC Rodriguez, age 22, was arrested. Rodriguez was charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis and for possession of ammunition without a FOlD card. Rodriguez was transported to the Ford County Detention Center. KAMEG was assisting the Gibson City Police Department.

 

 

On Thursday, October 4, 2018, at approximately 6:09 p.m., Illinois State Police (District 21) arrested Frederick Alexander, age 57, of Lansing, Illinois. Alexander was stopped northbound on Interstate 57 at milepost 299. A search of his truck tractor, semi-trailer resulted in the seizure of 6.6 kilos of suspected cocaine.  Alexander was transported to and detained at the Iroquois County Detention Center. KAMEG assisted in the investigation.

 

 

On Friday, September 28, 2018, at approximately 7:01 p.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 160 South Curtis Avenue, Apartment 15, Kankakee, L. During a search, Agents located approximately 32.8 grams of suspected cannabis and 2.1 grams of suspected cocaine. Terry T. Taylor, age 37, of Kankakee, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Taylor was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Saturday, September 29, 2018, at approximately 7:29 p.m., KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at 531 South Dearborn Avenue, Kankakee, IL. During a search, agents located approximately 139.1 grams of suspected cannabis and 11.3 grams of suspected ecstasy. KAMEG Agents also recovered two firearms from the residence. Latrell T. Franklin, age 19, of Chicago, was arrested and charged with armed violence, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Franklin was also wanted by the Illinois Department of Corrections for a parole violation. Franklin was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee Police Department.

 

 

On Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at approximately 10:36 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Emil M. France, age 22, of Kankakee, after Agents observed him in the 400 block of South Gordon in Kankakee. As Agents approached, France fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, Agents arrested France. Agents located a loaded 45 caliber firearm from the scene. France was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. France was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

On Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG), Kankakee Police Department, Bradley Police Department, Bourbonnais Police Department, Kankakee County Sheriffs Department, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Pledge for Life Partnership will give the public its next opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Please bring your unwanted medications for disposal to the Northfield Square Mall at 1600 North State Route 50 in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Please use the east midcourt entrance between Carson's Department Store and Cinemark Movies 10. This service is free, anonymous, and no questions will be asked. Officers from KAMEG will be stationed to accept medications. According to KAMEG Director Chris Koerner, "The program is a success in our area due to continued public support. During the past two collections, officers have collected over 1,500 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs." Similar to past events, the drop-off location inside the mall will be set-up to allow quick public access to the service. Director Koerner reminds the public that needles, syringes, and liquids are NOT accepted during the event. Director Koerner also advised that if the public is unable to make the event, the following locations have permanent drop boxes: Aroma Park Village Hall, Bradley Police Department, Bourbonnais Police Department, Grant Park Police Department, Herscher Village Hall, Illinois State Police -District 21, Jerome Combs Detention Center, Kankakee Police Department, Kankakee Sheriffs Department, Manteno Police Department, Momence Police Department, and St. Anne Village Hall. Area residents are encouraged to contact their local law enforcement agencies to determine exact locations and hours of availability. The DEA reports that the response to the National Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative has been overwhelmingly positive. In the previous Take-Back events nationwide from 2010-2015, approximately 2,500 tons of drugs were collected.By participating in the program, the community helps prevent potential safety and health hazards associated with improper prescription drug disposal. This initiative provides an opportunity for the public to safely dispose of pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications that were not previously collected or have accumulated since the last event.

 

 

 

On Monday, June 27, 2018, at approximately 8:12 p.m., KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at 572 Stockton Heights Drive, Bourbonnais, IL. During a search, agents located approximately 15.59 pounds of suspected cannabis and 17.37 pounds of suspected cannabis edibles. KAMEG Agents also located ammunition. Brice A. Mixon, age 20, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver over 5000 grams and possession of ammunition by a felon. Mixon was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Bourbonnais Police Department.

 

 

On Sunday, August 19, 2018, at approximately 7:40 a.m., KAMEG agents, with assistance from the Illinois State Police and the Kankakee County Sheriff'sDepartment, eradicated 751 outdoor cannabis plants from 5235 South 15000 East County Road in Pembroke Township. During the search warrant, agents also seized equipment utilized in the production of cannabis sativa plants and four firearms. This is an on-going investigation.

 

 

On Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at approximately 3:10 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Brett E. Magruder, age 24, of Bradley, IL, for unlawful possession of stolen firearms and for the unlawful sale of firearms. During an investigation, KAMEG agents recovered 2 suspected stolen firearms on August 14, 2018. Magruder was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. This is a joint investigation between KAMEG and the Kankakee County Sheriff's Department.

 

 

On Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at approximately 4:20 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Billy L. Garcia, age 22, of Kankakee, IL, for unlawful possession of weapons by a felon and for the unlawful sale of stolen firearms. During an investigation, KAMEG agents recovered 2 suspected stolen firearms from Garcia. Garcia was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Monday, August 13, 2018, at approximately 6:10 p.m., KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at 1947 Marmion Drive, Kankakee, IL. During a search, agents located approximately 18.8 grams of suspected cannabis, 66.3 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 112.0 grams of suspected cocaine, and 5 firearms. A resident, Sammy R. Clark, age 60, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cannabis (10-30 grams). Clark was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Saturday, August 4, 2018, at approximately 9:40 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Jacob D. Hudson, age 29, of Bourbonnais, after Agents observed his vehicle illegally parked in the 300 block of South Rosewood in Kankakee. Agents seized approximately 16.1 grams of suspected cannabis and a loaded .22 caliber revolver from inside the vehicle. The driver, Hudson was charged with possession of a weapon by a felon and unlawful possession of cannabis. Hudson was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Friday, July 20, 2018, at approximately 10:20 p.m., KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at 359 East Hickory Street #2, Kankakee, IL. During a search, agents located approximately 0.7 grams of suspected heroin, 1.6 grams ofsuspected crack  ine, and United States Currency. Byron O. Corbitt, age 41, was arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance possession. Quameka L. Wilson, age 36, was arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance. Both were transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Thursday, July 19, 2018, at approximately 5:24 a.m., KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at 531 South Dearborn Avenue, Kankakee, IL. During a search, agents located approximately 197.8 grams of suspected cannabis and a 9mm pistol. A resident, Darius K. Samuels, age 23, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Samuels was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee Police Department SWAT team.

 

 

On Thursday, July 19, 2018, at approximately 12:59 p.m., KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at 509 South Lincoln Avenue, Kankakee, IL. During a search, agents located approximately 926.6 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and approximately 3,508.6 grams of suspected cannabis.  A resident, Visel Guadalupe Perez-Varela, age 18, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Perez-Varela was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee Police Department.

 

 

 

On Sunday, July 15, 2018, at approximately 5:48 p.m., KAMEG Agents executed a search warrant at 369 South Chicago Avenue in Kankakee, Illinois.  Agents seized three firearms, approximately 3.0 grams of cannabis, approximately 3.5 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl, and approximately 4.0 grams of suspected crack cocaine.  Arrested was Matthew R. Jones, age 27, of Kankakee.  Jones was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Defaced Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.  Jones was transported and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.  KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee Police Department.

 

 

On Saturday, July 7, 2018, at approximately 7:30 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Dewitt L. Holbrook, age 29, of Kankakee, after a traffic stop near 662 West Merchant Street in Kankakee. Dewitt was arrested for three counts of delivery of a controlled substance stemming from previous KAMEG investigations. Holbrook was transported and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

On Thursday, June 07, 2018, at approximately 11:06 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Rodney K. Allen, age 26, of Kankakee, IL, and Brandon D. Adams, age 24, of Kankakee, IL. Allen and Adams were occupants in a vehicle stopped at the intersection of E Risser St / 5 Albert St, Kankakee, IL, which resulted in the seizure of approximately 4.5 grams of suspected ecstasy, 13.8 grams of suspected cannabis, .7 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and a semi-automatic handgun.  Allen was charged with driving while license suspended, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.  Adams was charged with armed violence, possession of a weapon by felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.  Allen and Adams were transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

On Monday, May 28, 2018, at approximately 7:56 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Larry L. Dorsey, age 30, of Pembroke Township, IL, and Taynsha Smith, age 30, of Pembroke Township, IL. Dorsey and Smith were occupants in a vehicle stopped in the area of 2000 S 13000 E Rd, Pembroke Township, IL, which resulted in the seizure of three (3) semi-automatic handguns with one of the handguns equipped with an extended magazine and suppressor. Dorsey and Smith were charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Dorsey and Smith were transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Saturday, April 28, 2018, Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG), Bourbonnais Police Department, Bradley Police Department, Illinois State Police, Kankakee Police Department, Kankakee County Sheriff's Department, Manteno Police Department, Aroma Park Police Department, and St. Anne Police Department partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day at the Northfield Square Mall. KAMEG Director Thomas Jennings reported that the event was an overwhelming success and that approximately 1,402.6 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs were turned in for disposal in Kankakee County alone. This amount represents approximately a 300 pound increase from last October's total. KAMEG was also assisted by the Pledge for Life Partnership of Kankakee County and the Kankakee County Health Department. KAMEG would also like to thank area residents for their continued support and for assisting in the event to make our communities safer.

On Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at approximately 4:48 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Demetrius S. Wells, age 38, of Kankakee, IL, for delivery of a controlled substance. During a  investigation in the 1000 block of S. Washington Ave, Kankakee, Wells, delivered 1.3 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Wells was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Monday, April 16, 2018, at approximately 5:25 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Dione K. Flynn, age 28, of Kankakee, IL, for delivery of a controlled substance.  During a drug investigation in the 200 block of W. Chestnut St, Kankakee, Flynn, delivered 0.8 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Flynn was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Monday, April 09, 2018, at approximately 11:30 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Malik M. Trapp, age 20, of Pembroke, IL, Sylvester L. Braddock, age 25, of Chicago, IL, and Demetric C. Logan, age 24, of Kankakee, IL. Trapp, Braddock, and Logan were occupants in a vehicle stopped in the 1600 block of E Court Street, Kankakee, IL, which resulted in the seizure of three (3) semi-automatic handguns.  Trapp was charged with no firearm owner's identification (FOlD) and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.  Braddock was charged with no firearm owner's identification (FOlD), aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.  Logan was charged with no firearm owner's identification (FOlD) and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a gang member.  Trapp, Braddock, and Logan were transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Monday, Apri l 03, 2018, at approximately 6:50 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Brian J. Smith, age 34, of Kankakee, for unlawful delivery of a cont rolled substance. During a narcotics investigation in the 400 block of Washington Avenue in Kankakee, Smith delivered 1.4 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Smith was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Thursday, March 29, 2018, at approximately 1:46 p.m., KAMEG Agents with assistance from the Kankakee Gang Enforcement Tactical Unit arrested Denzell Leggett, age 21, of Kankakee, Darion Taylor, age 22, of Harvey, Kwatez McLemore, age 26, of Kankakee, and Kristopher Brown, age 22, of Kankakee after a traffic stop in the 1900 block of West Station Street in Kankakee. During the traffic stop, a stolen .380 handgun and a second handgun were recovered. Leggett, Taylor, McLemore, and Brown were arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and for possession of a stolen firearm. Leggett, Taylor, McLemore, and Brown were transported and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at approximately 2:19 p.m., KAMEG with assistance from the Kankakee County ERT executed a search warrant at 3593 South Main Street in Hopkins Park. During the search, agents located approximately 41.6 grams of suspected heroin, approximately 8.3 grams of suspected crack cocaine, approximately 10.8 grams of suspected fentanyl, a stolen 9mm handgun, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and currency. Maurice C. Lumpkins, age 32, was arrested and charged with criminal drug conspiracy, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 500 feet of a park, and felon in possession of a stolen firearm. Jermalde Gaines, age 45, was arrested and charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of a park. William Frazier, age 69, was arrested on an in-state warrant. Lumpkins, Gaines, and Frazier were transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

 

 

On Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at approximately 5:15 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Leeland L. Green, age 46, of Kankakee, IL, for delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of church property. Green was arrested near the intersection of East Station Street and South Chicago Avenue in Kankakee after he allegedly delivered 0.7 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Green was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Kankakee Police Department's Gang Enforcement Tactical Unit.

 

 

A five month investigation culminated in the arrest of Donato Cruz-Perez, age 37, of Aroma Park, IL., on Thursday, February 22, 2018. At approximately 5:39 p.m., KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at 106 North Irvine Street in Aroma Park, IL. During a search, agents located approximately 183.4 grams of suspected cocaine, 245.3 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 33.1 grams of suspected heroin, drug paraphernalia, and currency. Perez was arrested at the residence and charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Perez was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Aroma Park Police Department and the Kankakee County State's Attorney's Office.

 

 

On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at approximately 7:41 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Keith D. Cahan, age 24, of Chebanse, after Agents responded to 222 West Court Street in Kankakee after receiving information about possible drug activity. Agents seized approximately 0.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine from inside a vehicle. The driver, Cahan was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Cahan was transported to the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Tuesday, February, 6, 2018, at approximately 5:05 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Alexander Steel Sr., age 49, of Kankakee, IL, for delivery of a controlled substance. During a drug investigation near 2745 South US Highway 45/52 in Kankakee, Steel Sr., delivered 1.3 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Steel Sr., was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

Two more individuals were arrested by KAMEG Agents last week. These individuals were part of KAMEG's latest round-up which began on October 22, 2017. To date, 26 individuals have been arrested on drug delivery and/or drug possession charges. Arrested last week were:

• Brian J. Burmeister, age 26, of Manteno

• DeJuan A. Taylor, age 24, of Kankakee

KAMEG Agents were assisted by the Manteno Police Department, the Kankakee Police Department, the Kankakee County Sheriff's Department, the US Marshal's Central Illinois Fugitive Task Force, and the Illinois Department of Corrections Parole Division. Throughout the investigation, KAMEG was also assisted by the Kankakee County State's Attorney's Office. This is an ongoing investigation with more arrests anticipated.

 

 

On Monday, January 29, 2018, at approximately 7:35 p.m., KAMEG agents arrested Teon M. Claypool, age 30, of Kankakee, IL, for delivery of a controlled substance within 500 feet of church property. During a drug investigation near 590 South Washington Avenue in Kankakee, Claypool delivered 0.3 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl. Claypool was transported to and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at approximately 3:27 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Craig R. Calhoun, age 56, of Kankakee, after a traffic stop at the intersection of South Schuyler Avenue and Charles Street in Kankakee. Calhoun was arrested for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance stemming from previous KAMEG investigations. Calhoun was transported and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center.

 

 

On Saturday, January 20, 2018, at approximately 8:20 p.m., KAMEG Agents arrested Adan Zarate III, age 42, of St. Anne, after Agents observed him walking in the 300 block of South West Avenue in Kankakee. Agents knew Zarate III had an active Kankakee County warrant for failure to appear. Agents placed Zarate III under arrest and also recovered approximately 14.8 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine. Zarate III was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Zarate III was transported and detained at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. KAMEG was assisted by the Gang Enforcement Tactical Unit of the Kankakee Police Department.

 

 

On Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at approximately 10:48 p.m., KAMEG agents executed a search warrant at 2265 South Kensington Avenue, Kankakee, IL. During a search, agents located approximately 3.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 0.1 grams of suspected heroin, and currency. The resident, Yashie M. Moore, age 39, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
